She has participated in multiple solo and collective exhibitions and has won several awards for her work. She currently lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Marchetta's creative process involves constant experimentation with new materials, and the qualities of the material itself are often intrinsic to the meaning of the piece. Recent work includes thoughtful and thought provoking pieces on a variety of themes including art marketing, the original vs. reproduction debate, or subliminal messages in interpersonal communication. The <i>Secret Alphabet Project </i>(2005-present) is a series of work exploring the themes of code, symbols and communication.
